Cheng Yi(程頤, 1033~1107) was a neo-Confucian philosopher of the Song Dynasty. In his early years, he studied under Zhou Dunyi(周敦頤), one of the architects of Neo-Confucian cosmology, with his elder brother Cheng Hao(程顥). After Zhao Shuo 趙朔 was murdered by Tu'an Gu 屠岸賈, Cheng Ying rescued and raised Zhao Shuo's son Zhao Wu (later Viscount Wen of Zhao 趙文子). Having fulfilled his mission, he killed himself to report the success of their fight for the orphan of Zhao to the soul of Gongsun Chujiu 公孫杵臼, who had sacrificed his life for Zhao Wu. | |

Cheng Yuanzhen(程元振, ?-764?) was an eunuch of the Tang Dynasty. In the early reign of Emperor Daizong(代宗), he was exceedingly powerful.
