(1494-1562). A native of Linchuan 臨川 and jinshi of 1514. He was appointed as erudite of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices 太常博士. As he tried to dissuade Emperor Zhengde 正德 from traveling to southern China, he was expelled from the court. Later he was made Director 郎中 of the Ministry of Rites 禮部. Since he was very frugal in dealing with government money, he was hated by corrupt officials. He fell prey to their plot and was banished to a remote place.
