Guo Zhongyue 郭鍾岳 곽종악
(궈중웨)
Guo Zhongyue was born in Jiangdou and earned the juren degree when he was 97 years old and then lived 39 more years in Wen Prefecture. He must have lived for at least 136 years. He became famous for his longevity, and was invited to the Feast for Thousands Elders held in Beijing in 1786. 숙어(叔吾)
Guo Ziheng 郭子橫 곽자횡
(궈쯔헝)
A native of Runan 汝南 during the early Eastern Han period. He served as an academician 博士 and later superintendent of the palace 光祿勳 under Emperor Guangwu 光武帝. 곽헌(Guo Xian 郭憲)
Guo Ziyi 郭子儀 곽자의
(궈쯔이)
Guo Ziyi(郭子儀, 697-781) was a general during the Tang Dynasty(唐). He ended the An Shi Rebellion and participated in expeditions against the peoples of Huihe(Uyghurs, 回紇) and Tubo(Tibetans, 吐蕃). 곽(郭), 곽령공(郭令公), 곽자의(郭子儀), 분양(汾陽), 분양왕(汾陽王), 자의(子儀), 충무(忠武)
Guoguipin 郭貴嬪 곽귀빈
(궈구이핀)
The royal concubine of Cao Pi 曹丕, Emperor Wen 文帝 of Cao Wei 曹魏. She gained the favor of Cao Pi, who forced his official consort Zhen Hou 甄后 to commit suicide, and became the empress. After Cao Rui 曹叡, the son of Zhen Hou, ascended the throne, she was honored as Empress Dowager Wende 文德皇太后 but was eventually killed by Cao Rui.
Gusantai 孤山太 고산태
(구싼타이)
(?-1644) He was a son-in-law of Nurhaci and belonged to Bordered Blue Banner. After Hungtaiji was enthroned, he became one of eight principle ministers and commander-in-chief(固山額眞) of Bordered Blue Bannner. In 1627 he participated in Joseon invasion, and in 1628 he made a siginficant contribution in taking Zunhua(遵化). But, in 1631 he was dismissed from the position of the commander-in-chief since he often mistreated scholars. 고삼태(顧三泰) (만)Gusantai(구산타이)
Guwalgiya Oboi 薄豆里弓 박두리궁
(구왈기야오보이)
(1610?-1669). Refers to Guwalgiya Oboi 瓜爾佳鼇拜. Rendering distinguished military service, he was promoted to general during the reign of Hong Taiji 皇太極, and appointed one of the four regents 顧命大臣 for the young Kangxi Emperor 康熙帝 by the Shunzhi Emperor 順治帝. During the early reign of the Kangxi Emperor, he wielded arbitrary power over the court and executed another regent Suksaha before he was arrested in 1668 and died in prison in following year. 瓜爾佳鼇拜

Guzhu Jun 孤竹君 고죽군
(구주쥔)
Lord of Guzhu. The father of Bo Yi 伯夷 and Shu Qi 叔齊. A ruler of Guzhu 孤竹, a regional state of the Shang 商. On his death bed, he left a will that Shu Qi 叔齊, the third son, should succeed to the throne. Nevertheless, both Shu Qi and Bo Yi 伯夷, the eldest son, refused to ascend the throne and fled to the Zhou 周. 아미(Ya Wei 亞微)
Hai Rui 海瑞 해서
(하이루이)
(1514-1587). An official celebrated for his integrity in Chinese history. A native of Hainan 海南 and jinshi of 1549. He served as instructor of a county shool 縣學 in Fujian 福建, and magistrate 知縣 in Zhejiang 浙江. He came to Beijing in 1564 as a Secretary 主事 of the Ministry of Revenue 戶部. In 1565 he submitted a memorial which reprimanded Emperor Jiajing 嘉靖 for his senseless involvement in Daoism and extravagant palace construction projects. The emperor was deeply disturbed and put him in jail. Only after the emperor died, was he released. After several promotions, he became the Governor of Nanjing 南京, but he was soon dismissed due to the plots of his political enemies. In 1587, after 15 years of retirement, he restarted his official carrer and eventually became right censor-in-chief 右都御史 in Nanjing. He did not recieve any bribes and enjoyed a simple life. Despite his popularity among ordinary people, he also made many political enemies. 서(瑞), 해서(海瑞)
Hai Shou 海壽 해수
(하이서우)
A eunuch of the Ming court who visited Korea in 1408 as an envoy to deliver Emperor Yongle's 永樂 present in return for three thousand horses Josen had previously sent. He also took beautiful Korean women back to Ming for the emperor. 수(壽), 해(海), 해수(海壽)
