Yuwen Shiji(宇文士及, ?-642) was a son of Yuwen Shu(宇文述), a general of the Sui Dynasty(隋). After his half brother, Yuwen Huaji(宇文化及) killed Emperor Yang(煬帝), he was installed as King Shu(蜀王). (507–556). The paramount general of the Western Wei 西魏 during the Northern and Southern Dynasties period. A native of Wuchuan Garrison 武川鎭. In 534, Emperor Xiaowu 孝武帝 of the Northern Wei 北魏, seeking to assert power independent of the powerful general Gao Huan 高歡, fled to Chang'an 長安, Yuwen Tai's domain. After Gao Huan installed Emperor Xiaojing 孝靜帝 as the emperor of the Eastern Wei 東魏, Yuwen Tai poisoned Emperor Xiaowu and declared the emperor's cousin Yuan Baoju 元寶炬 Emperor of the Western Wei. After Wuwen Tai's death, his son Yuwen Jue 宇文覺 forced Emperor Gong 恭帝 of the Western Wei to abdicate and proclaimed himself the emperor of the new dynasty, the Northern Zhou 北周. | 흑달(Heita 黑獺) |
