A high-ranking official from the reign of Emperor Shun 順帝 to the reign of Emperor Huan 桓帝 in the Eastern Han period.

Although he never held high office, as a key advisor of marshal of state 大司馬 Wang Feng 王鳳, he exerted much influence on the policies during the early reign of Emperor Cheng 成帝 during the Western Han period.

Du Ruhui(杜如晦, 585–630), a native of Capital commandery(京兆), was one of the most celebrated chancellors of the Tang Dynasty. He served Emperor Taizong(太宗) as chancellor with his colleague Fang Xuanling(房玄齡). The two were regarded as ideal models for chancellors. Du You(杜佑, 735-812), a native of Capital commandery(京兆), was a prominent scholar, historian and chancellor of the Tang Dynasty. He served Emperor Dezong(德宗), Emperor Shunzong(順宗) and Emperor Xianzong(憲宗) as chancellor. He devoted thirty-six years to the compilation of the Historical Encyclopedia(通典). Du Mu(杜牧), a major poet of Tang, was his grandson. 두우(杜佑), 군경(君卿), 안간(安簡)
