Chen Hongzhi(陳弘志, ?-835) was a eunuch in the reign of Emperor Xianzong(憲宗) of the Tang Dynasty. Xianzong, in his later years, was addicted to medicine of immortality(丹藥) whose side effects made him violent and impatient with a result that he often beat court ladies and eunuchs. The succession dispute made things worse, so Chen Hongzhi and Wang Shoucheng(王守澄) assassinated the emperor in 820. Dhen Hongzhi's power rose after this, but he was later killed by order of Emperor Wenzong(文宗) in 835. | 진홍지(陳弘志) |

(1497~1567). A Historian and Neo-Confician scholar. He did not pass the higher levels of civil examinations. He lived as a teacher in government schools. After his retirement, he devoted himself to studying and writing. He published various works about the differences between Zhu Xi's 朱熹 and Wang Shouren's 王守仁 thoughts. Chen Jing(陳京, ?-?) was an official of the Tang Dynasty. He was a excellent writer and often spoke straightforwardly to the emperor. He, with Yuan Gao(袁高), Zhao Xu(趙需) and others, opposed Emperor Dezong(德宗)'s appointment of Lu Qi(盧杞) as prefect of Rao Prefecture(饒州刺史).
