Chen Xuanli(陳玄禮, ?-?) was a general of the Tang Dynasty. He took part in the coup of Li Longji(李隆基, the future Emperor Xuanzong(玄宗)) against Empress Wei(韋后) and Princess Anle(安樂公主). After Xuanzong came to throne, he served as royal palace guard. During the An Shi Rebellion(安史之亂), he escorted the emperor when he escaped to the State of Shu(蜀) and recommended that Xuanzong put the Imperial Consort Yang(楊貴妃) to death at Maweiyi(馬嵬驛) in order to appease the complaining soldiers. | 진현례(陳玄禮), 현례(玄禮) |

Chen Youliang(陳友諒, 1320-1363) was the founder of the Great Han (Dahan, 大漢) during the Yuan-Ming transition period. He was a general under Xu Shouhui(徐壽輝), the leader of the Red Turban Rebellion(紅巾賊), but in 1360 he killed Xu Shouhui and declared himself emperor. He was a prominent rival of Zhu Yuanzhang(朱元璋), the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty(明). He was finally defeated and killed in the battle of Lake Poyang(鄱陽湖) against Zhu in 1363. | 진우량(陳友諒) |
