Cai Xiang(蔡襄, 1012-1067) was a calligrapher, scholar, official and poet of the Song Dynasty. Hailing from Xianyou District(仙遊), Xinghua Prefecture(興化軍), he earned the jinshi degree(進士) in 1030. Because he became Secretariat Drafter of Duanming Court(端明殿學士), he gained the nickname, Cai Duanming(蔡端明). He also wrote the famous article, Tea Note(茶錄) between 1049 and 1053.
